A Classic Church Wedding in Northern France with Kristina and Tim

It was such a joy to photograph Kristina and Tim’s Northern France wedding at Chateau de Vauchelles, a beautiful venue just outside of Normandy. Their day felt joyful and elegant from start to finish, bringing together their French and English families in a way that felt completely natural.
From the very beginning, the day carried a real sense of warmth and happiness. Joy ran through every part of it, and documenting that felt like a genuine privilege. Moments like these are exactly why I love what I do.
As a local Normandy wedding photographer, it felt especially meaningful to capture a day so deeply rooted in family and place. Because Kristina and Tim were relaxed and open from the start, the day flowed easily, allowing everything to unfold in an unforced and natural way.

The Couple’s Vision for Their COGNAC Wedding
Kristina and Tim wanted their wedding to feel classic, elegant, and joyful. Bringing their French and English families together was really important to them, and that intention shaped the entire day.
Their styling reflected that vision beautifully. Kristina wore a stunning dress by Lilar Paris, paired with a breathtaking veil. Tim kept things classic with a black-tie look by Fursac Paris. The bridesmaids wore pale beige dresses that complemented the setting perfectly.
Florals were simple and elegant, focusing on greenery and white tones. Everything felt timeless and understated, creating a very French feel that suited a wedding in northern France so well.

kristina and tim’s church wedding Ceremony in northern france
The ceremony took place in Tim’s local family church, in the village where his parents live. Choosing this church was deeply meaningful and added a strong sense of connection to the day.
The Catholic ceremony felt traditional while still personal. Thoughtful readings brought warmth, and the atmosphere was full of emotion. Seeing French and English guests come together in such an intimate setting made the ceremony especially moving.
After being showered with confetti, Kristina and Tim left the church in a beautiful classic Saab, owned by Kristina’s dad, and we made our way to a nearby viewpoint overlooking the French countryside close to Chateau de Vauchelles. It was a quiet moment for the two of them to take everything in while I captured a few portraits.

Drinks Reception at ChAteau de Vauchelles
The drinks reception took place in the English Garden at the chateau, close to the Orangerie where dinner would follow. This part of the day felt very relaxed, with guests enjoying a drink, chatting, and spending time together after the ceremony. With plenty of food and drinks, there was no need to rush, and everyone had time to properly enjoy it.
Family portraits were taken during the drinks reception, keeping things easy and efficient. We then took a few photos of the bridesmaids and groomsmen in the chateau courtyard, followed by relaxed couple portraits around the chateau and in the gardens. After that, the afternoon continued naturally, with the focus staying on time spent together.

Dinner and dancing at Kristina and Tim’s Northern France wedding
Dinner was held inside the Orangerie, with candlelight, fairy lights, and the fireplace decorated with gorgeous florals all creating a warm backdrop. The room felt full and lively, with everyone settled in and enjoying being together.
Speeches came next, with a mix of laughter and tears from Kristina and Tim, along with their friends and family. There were plenty of emotional moments, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and genuine throughout.
After dinner, Kristina and Tim took to the floor for their first dance. They’d rehearsed a routine that completely surprised their guests and set the tone for the party that followed. It was the perfect way to bring the day to a close!
