This was such an incredible wedding at Chateau de Vauchelles with Amanda and Dominic and I loved being their photographer. Their gorgeous chateau venue is in Northern France, so not too far from me in Normandy. These two were a joy from the beginning – fully trusting of how I worked and an absolute joy to photograph.

When you’re planning a summer destination wedding, rain is the last thing you want on your wedding day. But sometimes, the weather has other plans! Whilst you can’t control it, you can definitely can embrace it, and that’s exactly what Amanda and Dom did. Despite strong winds and intermittent heavy rain, I loved that Amanda and Dom were completely committed to an outdoor ceremony and that’s exactly what we had. The beautiful views over the French countryside and the chateau behind them was simply perfect. The rain held off just long enough, and it was so worth it! Even though the rain was heavy later on in the day, we headed outside for a few couple portraits. As we started to get a little too wet we got creative inside and these photographs are some of my favourites from the day.

I always say that if you have a good time, your guests will too, no matter the weather. I adored capturing Amanda and Dom’s incredible wedding, and it served as a wonderful reminder that rain on your big day can actually add a little extra romance!

Just 1.5 hours north of Paris, Chateau de Vauchelles is a dreamy 17th- and 18th-century estate brimming with history and elegance. This family-owned chateau is nothing short of magical. With its stunning blend of French and English gardens, a grand courtyard, and beautifully kept grounds, it’s perfect for a romantic and picturesque wedding.

The chateau offers two elegant reception rooms that can host up to 190 seated guests. It also has a scenic terrace, giving you plenty of options for both intimate gatherings and grand celebrations. Plus, the refined chateau rooms, each with a private bathroom, ensure a luxurious and comfortable stay for your guests. This venue provides a truly unforgettable experience.

the couples vision for their Chateau de Vauchelles wedding

Amanda and Dominic envisioned a wedding that was as stylish as it was fun! A perfect blend of elegance and celebration. Bringing together their closest friends and family from London, they wanted their day to feel effortlessly beautiful while ensuring everyone had an unforgettable time.

Their outdoor ceremony was set against the breathtaking backdrop of Chateau de Vauchelles. With its historic charm and stunning views it created a truly magical atmosphere. The bridesmaids wore different shades of blue, perfectly complementing the chateau’s timeless French aesthetic. For their flowers and decor, they embraced a simple yet elegant white theme, with delicate touches of pink adding warmth and romance to the setting.

As the sun set, their candlelit dinner created an intimate and cozy ambiance, making the evening feel both luxurious and inviting. Every detail was thoughtfully chosen to reflect their vision of a wedding that was visually stunning as well as full of fun!
